the bath

Water fills between the walls
but not rain sometimes I can't sleep
the rhythm is plain and sweet like Leadbelly strumming in the fields
his voice the sunset that no one sees more like the running of a bath or
someone finally coming clean like Degas in the peephole I can't stop
seeing you.
